Ray Piskin Introduces Papercut Software Technology

By on August 14th

CCP is deploying ACDI’s industry leading Papercut print management solution to help control user printing in an easy and comfortable way for both students, faculty and guest users. With Papercut every student, guest user or faculty member will be given a free print allowance and once the allowance is reached will become accountable for how much they print. This awareness alone will help to control the widespread printing that is prevalent on college campuses throughout the US where there is no print management solution in place.

Students will be given a free quota allowance of prints at the beginning of the semester. This is standard procedure for the majority of college libraries. After reaching their free quota allowance students can utilize several options to add value to their Papercut print accounts. These include the placement of self-service Pay Station Kiosks conveniently located throughout 2 floors of the library as well as an easy to use web payment portal offering students the flexibility to add value to their accounts using paypal and credit card.

Students will print to a global print que that provides the convenience of printing their jobs from any print release station in the library.

CCP is also looking to provide in coming semesters the ability to release prints from CCP’s Kyocera copiers via Papercut’s embedded technology right from the Kyocera copier panels further enabling students with even more flexibility to print from wherever they are in the library.

CCP will also be providing students with the capability to print via the web from any PC, laptop, tablet, iPad or mobile device via a simple web portal that opens a brand new level of immediacy to students who are working on projects and storing these projects on a variety of devices.
